What is Black 2 San Francisco?

Black 2 San Francisco (B2SF), an initiative led by the San Francisco Human Rights Commission (HRC), is focused on creating a hub or formal space for one or more Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to recruit, offer courses and host students in San Francisco.

Through Mayor London Breed’s Opportunities for All (OFA) initiative, San Francisco will launch HBCU programming in June 2024.  Long-term, the goal of the B2SF initiative is to create a satellite campus partnership with several HBCUs, including a physical location in San Francisco, and a full suite of academic and professional programming.

This initiative is a collaboration with HBCUs and industry leaders providing seminars, activities, projects and paid internships where HBCU students can attend and engage.

Education means emancipation. It means light and liberty. It means the uplifting of the soul of man into the glorious light of truth, the light only by which men can be made free.
